And another thing about fall …

• Some­one needs to take this dog hunt­ing. It would be the only kind thing to do. It’s all Clemen­tine really wants to do at this time of year (except sleep, which is a year-round kind of love). It’s obvi­ous that her nose is telling her of won­ders all around us, and there I sit like a tor­pid ninny not being able to smell it all.

  And I would take her hunt­ing, except that (a) only one of us would be hav­ing a good time, (b) I believe there are rules and stuff and © I think you need a gun or a pointed stick or some­thing. But other than that, I’m rarin’ to go.
