It’s a drizzly day and the mood of the house is sleepy. The dog cracks me up on days like this. Her hunting-dog half is handily overmastered by her lap-dog half where rainy days are concerned. The weather has been so mild that the hibernating creatures have woken up and during our morning time we were treated to a fair amount of squirrel squabbling, tussling and chasing on the garage roof next to the window. It’s the kind of thing that would usually have her up in an instant running from window to window to find the best barking venue. But with the gray skies and misty rain coming down, she watched the squirrels run this way and that with a bored “oh really” expression, as if someone were telling her about their cousin’s gall bladder surgery.
