A touchdown to touch your heart
-
This YouTube video may not look like much. It’s just a touchdown from a recent high school game in nearby Maryville. But it’s really just a very cool deal. The touchdown was scored by Matt Ziesel, who has Down’s Syndrome, and had been dreaming of being put in the game all season. When his team was certain to lose the game by 46 points and there was less than a minute left on the clock, the coach approached the opposing team and asked if they would let Matt score. They were on board right away and avoided any physical contact but made it look as real as they could. The whole story is HERE.
You know, high school jocks and coaches get a lot of bad PR. But sometimes, they have big hearts.

That’s awesome! Thank you!
Just to let the kid be on the team at all is a wonderful testimony to the coach and kids, … that is true class.
Reading the story, I’m not quite sure how it worked. It sounds like he was on the bench all the time, but the coach figured out this way to let him in the game.
Great story. Thanks for finding and sharing it.
