Coffee cake Thursday

• 

  We got a cou­ple inches of snow in a short period of time yes­ter­day. It wasn’t much fun to drive in last night, but this morn­ing it’s really pretty. And school is out and every­thing around town is very quiet.

  The sun has come out and Clemen­tine seems to want noth­ing more than to get in the good sunspots and sleep the day away.

  Def­i­nitely a day for mak­ing cof­fee cake in the breadmaker.

  I know, I know… blah-blah trans­fats blahdy-blah empty calo­ries. Look, Lent starts in a cou­ple months — you want all this stuff to go bad?

  Yep, it came out pretty good. It was a lit­tle dense, but I had taken the pre­cau­tion of adding extra cin­na­mon and stuff into the recipe so there was just more to love! (And the dog liked lick­ing the crumbs off the floor.)
