Greg’s moody curtain

• We get such inter­est­ing light dur­ing this time of Indian sum­mer. Greg sent me this pic­ture on Hal­loween of the south-facing win­dow cur­tain in his office, just label­ing it “Scary angry cur­tain.” Indeed.

  

  I would’ve thought it was just a coin­ci­dence that it looked so spooky on Hal­loween, except that today when Greg looked at the cur­tain, the light had changed, and instead of look­ing angry, the Cur­tain­Face looks uncer­tain, like he (or she?) is not sure what to do today.

  You know, these are prob­a­bly the kinds of things that made our pre-Christian, pre-monotheistic ances­tors into pagans. If Greg and I weren’t good Ortho­dox folks, we’d prob­a­bly be try­ing to fig­ure out what an appro­pri­ate sac­ri­fice is for a curtain.
