It’s fall! I’m drawing as fast as I can!

Who’s in charge around here? I’ve been waiting all year for autumn to officially start, and then two weeks ago it suddenly leapt out of the starting gate like Whirlaway on a fast break. Honest to goodness, the trees were green and they were green and then in one hour, half of them went orange.I’ve been taking a class to revive my drawing skills, and so it matters that it’s getting away from me. Because once it turns to November, the only colors you need in your palette are white, gray, brown, gray-brown, brown-gray and white again. Or you could skip colors and just draw vertical marks with a charcoal pencil. (“Trees — winter symphony #3 in grey” by Grace the Drawler. Price: $15,000.) (Hey, I can dream, can’t I?)
But I’ve got five or ten minutes till then, so I’ll busily lug all the colored pencils and all the watercolors and whatnot out to try to capture those colors — burnished leaves, plum shadows, organdy light, copper bark.I’ll never get it, but it’s fun trying.

Very nice!
That’s beautiful, Grace!
ohhhh.…I’m sooo jealous! Time to take a drawing class! I haven’t picked up a pencil or pen in decades. I did design my business card logo.…sigh.….
Whee, I’ll get that $15,000 per “masterpiece” any time now! Thanks, all.
