Someday, I want to visit the East Coast in autumn, so gorgeous.

  • The good thing is that you really have more options for seeing fall colors than I think people know. We’re in Missouri and they’re pretty darn spiffy. Greg just came from Rhode Island and he said their fall is ahead of ours. So where they have the big “fireworks” in September, I guess, we usually get the best of it in the first weeks of October.

But of course the East Coast/New England area has an ambiance that kind of goes with the whole thing better — littler house all together, the coastal thing and roads that wind around more so you have more Kodak moments.

Sort of off-topic, but people have the impression that Missouri is flat like Kansas. It’s actually not; it’s quite hilly. Pretty country.

  • Even here in northern Nevada we get some changes; when it gets cold the aspens turn a lovely shivery yellow, and so do I.

  • That would be kind of cool to see (the trees, not you). Do the cottonwoods lose leaves? It seemed to me that the whole area wasn’t much for fall colors, but like everything else in the desert, maybe that’s just because you have to know where to look.
