Rain, rain, go away. Because we need a place to pray.

I shouldn’t complain about what we’ve been getting of the hurricane weather. Goodness knows, it’s wreaking havoc further south. Up here in Missouri, all we have to put up with is rain and rain and rain. And rain.
This’ll make my priest cranky. Father Elias goes out to the construction site to oversee the building of our church every day. I think maybe he took an afternoon off when his daughter got married, but maybe not. (Kidding.) (I think.)
And Father Elias gets very, very annoyed when it rains. I can see his point. When your roof looks like this …

… you’re not exactly ready for a two-week-long deluge.Father said that last week when it rained you could just stand and watch it coming down — outside and, in places, inside. Sounded kind of pretty, but he didn’t seem to think so.
So let’s all pray for the end of the hurricane season, most especially for those most impacted in Texas and the Gulf Coast. But also, if you’ve got a leftover prayer, send one up on behalf of western Missouri.
Nobody likes a wet, cranky priest.
(BTW, I’ll do my bit to make my priest happier and link to our Website HERE. It’s our old Website, so it doesn’t have information about the new church. But since we’re not there yet — obviously — it ought to be fine for anyone that’s in the area and wants to visit.)

“Nobody likes a wet, cranky priest.”
This is perhaps the most universally truthful thing I have heard all day.
May I quote you?
Nobody likes a wet, cranky priest. better check the weather report before you head out for confession next time.
Bwahahahahahahahaha! I love that line.
And, prayers.
I’m always glad to stumble onto a universal truth. Someone could make a nice cross-stitch sampler out of it or something. Words to live by.
Someone could make a nice cross-stitch sampler out of it or something. Words to live by. Ha!! We need t-shirts too. This one would pair nicely with: “AYP” (Ask Your Priest).
