  The dam­age doesn’t look all that bad, does it? Shows what we know. We just heard from CarStar, and even the rough esti­mate was com­ing in $2000 higher than the blue­book value.

  So that’s the end of my Hyundai XG-350. That was the best car I ever owned, and def­i­nitely the most reliable.

  We just paid it off two months ago.

  Heart­break­ing as it is about the car being totalled, after a nasty acci­dent, your hus­band is releatively OK and so the car did what it was sup­posed to do under such con­di­tions. I thank God that he is OK, and that he was not in a less-reliable vehi­cle. It would have been nice to have been w/o a car pay­ment for a while, but I pray that the insur­ance can give you a leg-up on a new vehicle.

  We’ve had three Hyundais, I don’t drive one now, but they were good when we needed them to be.

  You know, in case anyone’s fol­low­ing the com­ment threads, we all need to mourn not just the loss of the car, but also the appallingly low (as in: fully $4,000 less than we expected) insur­ance set­tle­ment. Feh.
