Litigious Society update — holiday edition
-
Okay, hopefully we all have more important things on our minds these days, but who’s sillier — the Bay Area lawyer is suing to get those little silver balls used for holiday cake and cookie decoration (called “dragees,” apparently) banned because he says they’re toxic, or the people newly deprived of dragees who say things like “We can’t do this — my daughter is going to be miserable. “? I think the lawyer wins the silliness contest on that, but just barely. Read about it here.
(For those who wonder how in the world I find these sorts of stories, his name is Greg. Thanks, Greg.)

Um, yeah, thanks Greg
There’s a whole lot of silly in that story, Grace.
Well, yes. I suppose it does sort of go on and on. Consider for example:
* the society that produces little metallic-looking silver balls that you can eat
* the person that names them “dragees”
* a factory that makes them
* any industry that would be greatly put out if they were banned, and YET …
* … that same industry reacting to the as-yet-undecided lawsuit by getting rid of them
Yep, lots of silliness.
