Good times and bad times

Catching up on Ortho-blogs recently, I was struck by how many people are going through things that I think would kill me, like Jim N. and Bec and Alana and Steven and Matt … and I’m probably leaving out some. One of the great advantages of blogging is to find out that you’re not as alone with your situation, your musings, your perils and your experiences as you might have thought. Another for me is to find that there are others doing considerably better with their load than I am. There’s a lot to learn.

I’m glad I’m not alone in a different sort of way — my husband and I are former Baptists, extremely interested in Orthodoxy. The only problem is that there is no local Orthodox church (the nearest is a four hour drive away). So we’re looking for people who know Orthodoxy who we could ask questions to and correspond with. If you have any suggestions for websites or anything, that would be great. I’m enjoying your blog, by the way.

You’re not alone — there’s always the Ortho-blogosphere (wry grin).
Just kidding, of course. The O-B may be useful for a little electronic fellowship, but it can’t approach real fellowship, and certainly nothing like real worship.
Two good possibilities (though there are many more) for how to further your investigation online:

* The Orthodox converts list on Yahoo groups — I talked about it on this post — http://www.this-side-of-glory.com/archives/2005/0… — and there’s a link to it at the end.
