Quote about traveling marrieds
-
Greg is away on business again for the next day or so, so it’s a good time to recall what I read a few days ago
When a couple are united, even if the husband is abroad on a journey, distance ought not to diminish the joy of their love. Near or far, it is always the same law that unites them. Together or apart, it is always the same bond that guarantees the privileges of conjugal love. Even if one of the two is traveling a long way away, the same yoke of shared blessings unites them closely one to the other, because they have accepted the yoke of grace not only on their bodies but also on their souls.

I love that quote, Grace. May Greg travel safely and be home soon!
Having “the same yoke of shared blessings” does not mean that I’m sharing my room-service ice cream with you!
Well, good to know where I stand. But then, it’s hard to imagine that we’d order ice cream room service and I wouldn’t get my own.
Dang… you edited the “joke of shared blessings”. Ambrose was a celibate saint, so “joke” was actually probably a more pithy observation of married life than “yoke”.…
Yep, Greg called me up and told me my typo. (For those who didn’t see it earlier, the last sentence read “… they have accepted the joke of grace…”) I did have a grin or two before I fixed it. What the heck — Greg and I occasionally share the jokes of Grace. Not as often as I’d like, of course, but then Greg’s a tough audience.
