When no one was looking, Cindy Sheehan went completely mad

• There’s was lots for every­one to be talk­ing about last Mon­day, so it’s prob­a­bly fine that we all missed the fact that Cindy Shee­han has given up any pre­tense of being a griev­ing mother stand­ing with a fist and has just gone totally insane, call­ing for the US mil­i­tary to pull out of “occu­pied” New Orleans:

  I don’t care if a human being is black, brown, white, yel­low or pink. I don’t care if a human being is Chris­t­ian, Mus­lim, Jew, Bud­dhist, or pagan. I don’t care what flag a per­son salutes: if a human being is hun­gry, then it is up to another human being to feed him/her. George Bush needs to stop talk­ing, admit the mis­takes of his all around failed admin­is­tra­tion, pull our troops out of occu­pied New Orleans and Iraq, and excuse his self from power.

  Appar­ently, she’s in the mid­dle of a nation­wide bus tour to raise funds for her cause (what­ever that is. It seems to be more of a con­fed­er­a­tion of causes, based only on an abil­ity to paint George Bush as the anti-Christ).

  I don’t know how these fundrais­ers are done, but if it wouldn’t put a penny into her cof­fers, I would love to see a large orga­nized group meet her at every stop, take every avail­able seat and just not react to any­thing she said in a speech. Not clap, not shout, not react in any way. I think after five min­utes she wouldn’t even be talk­ing in sen­tences any­more, and after ten min­utes she’d be inca­pable of speech. That’s the prob­lem with all that bile — if you can’t hand it off, it just backs up on you.
